BIO

Ali spent the 2020 volleyball season coaching the Clarkston J.V. team to an undefeated record during the Pandemic and has now taken the role as the Clarkston High School Varsity Coach. Prior to coming to Clarkston, Coach Smith was the Varsity Coach at Mt. Pleasant High School for 6 seasons. During her time at Mt. Pleasant, the Oiler program reached records in multiple seasons. Mt. Pleasant won a first-ever District title in 2018, and also won both District and Regional titles in 2019 with an appearance in the State Tournament. Smith coached several All-Conference and All- Region players while at the helm.

Also during her time in Mount Pleasant, Smith served as the Director of both Central Volleyball Club (CVC) and FarOut North. While directing with both clubs, she coached at the 12U, 13U and 18U age levels.

Alison, a native of Rochester, MI also coached at Oakland University as an assistant while coaching at USA Michigan Volleyball for 2 seasons after finishing her collegiate playing career at Stony Brook University. While at Stony Brook, Smith was a 3 time captain as both a setter and libero.

Coach Smith has been active in the Club Volleyball Community in Michigan and Utah over the past 17 years. Smith and her husband, Jeff, have 2 daughters (Marlie and Stella) who are proud members of the Clarkston School System and supporters of the Clarkston Volleyball Program.
